1 Hour Electrical Hazard Awareness & Avoidance for Unqualified Workers
This electrical safety training is geared toward non-electrical workers who may be in work environments where potential electrical hazards are present. It is a concise session that highlights the basics of electrical safety awareness, including:
-
Hazard Recognition
-
Approach Boundaries
-
Workplace Safety Practices
Overall, this training reinforces a safer workplace by giving all personnel the awareness they need to stay protected around electrical hazards. Unqualified (non-electrical) personnel are required to be trained on electrical hazard awareness and avoidance every 3 years per the NFPA 70E.
4 & 8 Hour Electrical Safety Training for Qualified Workers
The 4 & 8-hour training options are recommended for electrical workers who are exposed to electrical shock (50V or greater) and/or arc-flash hazards as part of their job responsibilities (electricians, maintenance workers, HVAC technicians, engineers, etc.). We recommend using the 4-hour training as a refresher, while the comprehensive 8-hour training is used as an introductory or in-depth refresher. These courses are designed to equip electrical workers with the knowledge and skills to mitigate electrical hazards, covering topics such as arc-flash risks, shock prevention, PPE selection, risk assessments, and best practices at every level of experience. Electrical safety training per the NFPA 70E is required every 3 years (at a minimum).
Train-The-Trainer 2-Day Workshop
This comprehensive training program is designed to equip experienced professionals with the techniques and confidence to effectively deliver engaging electrical safety training within their own organizations. The first day includes specialized instruction and discussion on how to properly deliver the 4 Hour Electrical Safety Training. On day two, you will practice presenting the training while your Herzig instructor provides live feedback and discusses how to address common talking points and challenges. By the conclusion of the course, participants will solidify their knowledge of electrical safety standards and be ready to train others to those same high expectations.
Lockout/Tagout Training
This training focuses on proper lockout/tagout procedures, teaching workers how to correctly identify and isolate hazardous energy sources during maintenance or servicing. The course covers key OSHA requirements, steps for establishing a zero-energy state, and verification practices to prevent accidental re-energization. Participants will gain a clear understanding of hazardous energy control and the best practices needed to maintain safe, compliant operations.
