Herzig Engineering Acquires Brady Infrared, Expanding Infrared Inspection Capacity Nationwide
Combined organization adds more than 25 years of infrared thermography expertise, aerial and corona inspection capability, and a Florida base that strengthens response across the Southeast.
Herzig Engineering, a leading provider of electrical safety and reliability services, has announced the acquisition of Brady Infrared, a Florida based infrared inspection company serving utilities, healthcare systems, government facilities, data centers, and commercial and industrial sites nationwide.
The acquisition is the third step in Herzig Engineering's growth plan, backed by Copley Equity Partners, following Martin Technical in February 2026 and Canada Training Group in June 2026. Infrared inspection has been one of the most requested services across the combined organization, and Brady Infrared brings the people, equipment, and field experience to meet that demand at scale.

Inspection Capability Most Firms Cannot Match
Brady Infrared built its reputation on going where a handheld thermal camera cannot. Since 2001, the team has assembled a range of capture platforms and specialty imaging tools that let them scan assets on the ground, on the roof, and in the air. The work is performed by Level III certified thermographers and FAA Part 107 licensed drone pilots. Six service lines make up the catalog:

Corona inspection is the clearest example of the difference. A standard infrared camera reads heat, so it finds loose connections and overloaded conductors. A corona camera reads ultraviolet emissions instead, which reveals insulator degradation, contamination, and partial discharge on energized overhead lines long before those faults produce measurable heat. Pair that with aerial access and a utility can survey miles of line in a day without a single truck roll. All work follows NFPA 70B and NFPA 70E.
Stronger Coverage in the Southeast, Greater Capacity Nationwide
Brady Infrared was founded in Stuart, Florida in 2001 and won its first major contract with Florida Power & Light. Today the company operates from Palm City and serves customers in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and beyond. That Florida base matters for the Southeast in particular, where heat, humidity, salt air, and hurricane season all accelerate electrical equipment wear. Post storm assessments and pre-season scans are far more useful when the crew is already in the region.
For customers outside the Southeast, the gain is capacity.
